چکیده

ii These results indicate that short IED bipolar leads provide a signal that is adequate for clinical use. Furthermore, the performance of these leads was shown to be similar or even superior to that of the commonly used standard leads. It can be concluded that when correctly positioned, short IED bipolar leads are useful and can give additional value for clinical diagnostics. These results provide promising information on the applicability and potential of short IED bipolar ECG leads, and demonstrate that they are worth developing further.

Body surface potential mapping in patients with Brugada syndrome: right precordial ST segment variations and reverse changes in left precordial leads.

OBJECTIVE The aim of this study was to perform quantitative signal analysis of high-resolution body surface potential mapping (BSPM) recordings to assess its usefulness for the electrocardiographic characterization of patients with Brugada syndrome. The diagnostic value of the QRS integral and of the gradient of the ST segment have not been elucidated in Brugada syndrome. METHODS In 27 subjec...

Different effect of the pure Na+ channel-blocker pilsicainide on the ST-segment response in the right precordial leads in patients with normal left ventricular function.

BACKGROUND The response of the ST-segment in the right precordial leads to Na+ channel blockers in patients without structural heart disease and a typical Brugada-type ECG has not been fully elucidated. METHODS AND RESULTS A pilsicainide challenge test was performed in 161 patients and according to recently established ECG criteria and an organized computer algorithm, the ST morphology was cl...

QT-interval prolongation in right precordial leads: an additional electrocardiographic hallmark of Brugada syndrome.

OBJECTIVES The aim of this study was to evaluate whether the occurrence of the Brugada Syndrome typical electrocardiogram (ECG) pattern (i.e., right bundle branch block, coved-type ST-segment elevation, and T-wave inversion in the right precordial leads) is characterized by a concomitant lengthening of QT intervals in the right precordial leads. BACKGROUND It has been suggested that the typic...

A comparison of 2-lead, 6-lead, and 12-lead ECGs in patients with changing edematous states: implications for the employment of quantitative electrocardiography in research and clinical applications.

OBJECTIVE Precordial ECGs reveal significant intrasubject variability due to the inexact employment of the recommended V(1)-V(6) chest landmarks. Also, as per the Einthoven law, the six limb leads can be derived from leads 1 and 2. The purpose of this study was to evaluate whether the 12-lead ECG could be substituted by ECG sets with a limited number of leads. MATERIALS AND METHODS The perfor...

Response to Letter Regarding Article, "Stress-Induced Cardiomyopathy Presenting as Shock"

First of all, we would like to appreaciate your deep interest in our case report. Fortunately, we have a previous electrocardiogram (ECG) of the patient before the symptom onset (Fig. 1). And we did check the serial ECGs during the admission. At initial admission, there were no prominent ST and voltage changes in precordial leads (Fig. 2). Follow-up ECG taken after 3 hours from the first ECG sh...
